What inspired you to start helping people with their finances?

Back in 2002, I realized just how many people needed a guiding hand to feel financially confident. As a CPA, I was already in the trenches, helping clients make crucial financial decisions. Becoming licensed was a natural next step, allowing me to expand my services and deepen the support I offer.

What keeps you passionate about your work?

It's all about the people and their unique stories. Each client brings a fresh set of goals and attitudes towards money, making every day different and exciting. The ability to weave in tax insights during both the accumulation and distribution phases of planning is a distinctive strength that I bring to the table.

Why do you focus on working with women?

As a woman in a male-dominated industry, I have a unique perspective and connection with my female clients. I understand their challenges and aspirations on a personal level. Women are often underserved in the financial world, and I’m committed to changing that narrative. Watching their financial confidence grow is incredibly rewarding. The evolution of our relationship is a fascinating journey that I cherish.

Tell us about your roots and what brought you to Springfield, MO.

I grew up in Belvidere, IL, a small town northwest of Chicago. It was a wonderful place to call home, with a vibrant community and a love for the Cubs and Bears. Now, I’m in Springfield, MO, where I’ve found the perfect balance of city life, lake life, and a close-knit community. The changing seasons keep things interesting, though I do wish for a bit more snow!

How do you spend your time outside of work?

Family is my cornerstone. I have two amazing adult sons, along with two stepchildren and two grandchildren. My husband, Mike, is my unwavering support. Sports are a big part of my life—I played volleyball at Northwest Missouri State University and was inducted into their sports hall of fame. Nowadays, I enjoy golf, lake outings, and the occasional beach trip.

What credentials do you hold, and how do they shape your approach?

I've been a CPA since 1990, a CFP® since 2011, and RICP® was added to the list in 2024. These designations equip me with a comprehensive toolkit to guide clients through their financial journeys with precision and care.
